Rebuilding or a new purchase?
The client's request was to modify their existing house. House of Porters realised immediately that this renovation would not yield the desired return and therefore changed course completely.
That same day, we visited together a dated dark English villa, but with fresh and young possibilities. After some thought, the client decided to buy it.

An interior with emotional results
The basis of the dark English villa was preserved and several elements were kept. To lighten the heavy atmosphere, the kitchen, the staircase, the parquet and the library cupboard, among others, were patinated or greyed out. These were complemented by fresher furniture to create a young and airy French country house.
The layout of the rooms was corrected to make everything flow into each other, and the pool house was also given the same fresh look.
In the master bedroom, most of the dark mahogany was removed. The combination with lighter shades on the walls, ceiling and bedding created an airy atmosphere. The bedrooms of the young adult family members were given a New York loft style and a romantic yet young feel respectively.
The beautiful end result, symbolised by tears of happiness during the first tour, ensured that this project will be continued on the outside of the house and in the garden.
